Pricing

The prices on this page are examples. Your exact price depends on what you're getting rid of and how much it weighs, so we look at every job in person before we give you a number.

How pricing works

  1. You tell us what's going

Call, email, or send a request. A photo helps us know what to expect.

  2. We come look at it

We come out and look at what you have, how much there is, and how heavy it is.

  3. You get your exact price

You get a firm price before anything goes on the truck. Say yes and we load it up.

Why weight matters

When we drop off a load at the dump or scrap yard, we pay a fee based on how much it weighs. A pickup full of scrap metal can cost more to get rid of than a whole truck full of brush, even though it takes up less space. That's why the prices here are only examples, and why we look at every job in person first.

Example prices

These are examples, not quotes. You get your exact price after we look at your junk in person, before anything goes on the truck.

Included in every job

  • Carrying it out from wherever it sits
  • Loading the truck
  • Dump and disposal fees, built into your price

What can add to the price

Heavy loads and some items cost more to get rid of. We'll point them out when we look at your job, before you agree to anything.

  • Mattresses and box springs
  • Tires
  • Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners
  • Heavy loads like scrap metal, concrete, dirt, or shingles

About Cook's

A local hauling business with my name on the truck.

I'm Landon Cook, the owner of Cook's Junk Removal Co. I'm a computer science major with a minor in business administration at Heidelberg University, graduating in May 2027.

I started this business to build something of my own. It's local and owner-run, so when you call, you talk to me, and I'm the one who shows up at your door.

The idea is simple. Getting rid of big, heavy stuff shouldn't take a weekend, a borrowed pickup, and three trips to the dump. You show us what needs to go, we give you a price, and then we do all the carrying.

When you hire Cook's, you're supporting a young local business built from the ground up. Whether it's one old couch or a whole garage, I'd be happy to haul it.

A little outside the area? Call and ask. We can often make it work.

    Common questions

Short answers to what people ask before they book.

How do you figure out the price?

We come out and look at it first. Your price depends on how much there is and what it is, because the dump charges us by weight. Heavy things like scrap metal, concrete, or shingles cost more to get rid of than the same amount of brush or furniture. The pricing page has example prices, but your exact price comes after we see the job.

Can you give me a price over the phone or from a photo?

Not a final one. We need to see your junk in person, because what it weighs decides what the dump charges us. A photo still helps us know what to expect before we come out.

Do I have to carry things to the curb?

No. We carry everything out from wherever it sits, including basements, attics, and backyards.

Do I need to be home?

We need to see your junk in person before we can give you a price. Call and we'll find a time that works for you.

Do you come to my town?

We cover Seneca County and anywhere within 40 miles of it. Check your address on the service area map.

    How soon can you come?

Usually within a few days. Call for the soonest opening.

Is there anything you can't take?

A few hazardous things, like wet paint, fuel, propane tanks, and asbestos. The services page has the full list.

    Do you donate or recycle?

Yes, whenever we can. Usable items go to donation centers and metal goes to recyclers.

    How do I pay?

You pay when the job is done. We accept cash, checks, and cards.

Do you do whole-house or estate cleanouts?

Yes. We can empty a whole home, and we'll set aside anything you want to keep.
